NEW PROJECT

Unspoken Silence is a sound documentary that explores the presence of Schizophrenia in my

family and how this impacted the dynamics and relationships, creating a barrier of silence and denial

building situations of violence and aggression as usual. The narrative is based on my own

experience, but it will be a fictionalized documentary, as the characters and members of my family

will be played by actors, as well as interventions of experts in the field of mental health and its

impact on the community.

The series is composed of 5 episodes, each of which will address some aspect of family

dynamics guided by the experience of the family members. We will focus on three main characters:

.lvaro, the uncle; Genoveva, the grandmother; and Dario, the brother. The narrative resource is the

writing of a diary, where Alicia, the main character (based on my experience), shares the discoveries

of the family history and the information given by experts.

The sound resource will be the creation of spaces thanks to the use of soundscapes mixed with

Dolby Atmos technology. The story is told in two spaces: Alicia's daily life and the space of

memories that is recreated as if she were in a box, and her memories are sounds outside that try to

attack her. The common thread between the episodes is the bond between each character, leading

to an exploration of the family's history.
